Storm Relief for the Grand Turk Island and Caicos and Southern Bahamas
Updated: Saturday September 13, 2008

Hurricane Ike, recently packing winds in excess of 135 miles per hour slammed into the Turks and Caicos and the southern Bahamas Islands of Inagua destroying many homes and most natural resources and utilities.

Communications on this island have severely hampered as the island’s residents dig out from the debris.

The people of Turks and Caicos and Inagua are in immediate need of water, clothing, medicine, food, shelter. Worldwide disaster relief teams including the Red Cross are immediately in route to help those affected by the disaster on this tropical island.

The Category 4 Hurricane devastated areas located roughly 300 miles south southeast of Miami, Florida. This storm decimated the local economy displacing an estimated 1500 residents on these islands. Inagua is home to thousands of migratory flamingos, the national bird of The Bahamas, is 30 miles from the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Being lone islands, there is limited transportation to bring in supplies. There are no convoys of transfer trucks, EMS vehicles, or National Guard Helicopters providing as the United States or other developing countries would have. The only source that the people of these islands have is individual support. Supplies are currently being mobilized and delivered utilizing private boats and airplanes by private citizens.

Donations are immediately needed to provide necessities for the people. One hundred 100 % of all donations will go to both islands and its inhabitants and will be administered by Richard Ross, CPA. Please note that all time and relief efforts to develop this website have been donated. Please donate now. To many of the islands inhabitants this catastrophic event is a matter of life and death. Please give now.

Emergency Disaster Relief – 100% of all donations to benefit victims.
